No driver installation required
Comments:
Everything seems to work well. You have to install hplip (sudo apt-get install hplip) first, but that's easily downloadable. Just follow the instructions of the other reviewer. Unlike the other reviewer, I was able to get scanning working easily.

Driver instructions:
Setup is simple, but I did need to upgrade 2 PCs to Ubuntu 11.04 and to have the latest version of hplip (3.11.1) to get them to recognise the printer over ethernet. After that installation was as simple as:

1) Run "sudo hp-setup"

2) Select the radio button for "Network/Ethernet/Wireless network"

3) Click "Forward" until the program is done. (Assuming your printer is detected, which mine was with the newer version of hplip).
What doesn't work:
Duplex scanning doesn't seem to be supported by the current hplip drivers. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the settings for scan to memory card. Double sided photocopying and printing works fine though.
Comments:
This is a great printer, excellent photo quality and the ADF is really handy for slogging through old home office stuff to be scanned. Even if you have some machines at home that can't be upgraded for whatever reason; it's still possible to print documents using the eprint facility and emailing them to the printer. Unfortunately it doesn't recognise .odt, etc. but /pdf, .doc work well.
